figma Saber, sorta

(click to zoom+drag) Oh (my) noes!

First ever figma get, but not very much shown. All I can say for now is, figma Saber is tiny, about 1/12 scale. I'm slightly bummed that mass-production means flaws here and there, but I can forgive fatigued painters for sloppy detailing, especially for small things. After all, once you open a figma's box, the first thing you notice is the pleasantly intoxicating smell of paint.

Mine came with only one significantly defective face... a chipped nose equivalent to a black speck, and a black speck below the mouth (unsure if it's also a chip—could not pick off or wash it away with water).

The other two faces have minor residue I also cannot remove but are comparatively unnoticeable. Any suggestions?

Under sufficient light, the noses on all three appear dark—do you also notice dark noses on figures?

Bound

Every now and then I consider what I may be missing out on by not trying alternatives. I used OS X recently, and that made me want to get a Mac; that feeling periodically comes, usually tempting whenever Microsoft makes any moves.

Correlation doesn't lead to causation, but I notice that many successful people (particularly devs) use Macs and are often vocal about it. You don't ever see that for people who happen to use Windows.

I would, however, miss my habits and experience on Windows thoroughly enhanced by third-party software, some of them being my own scripts. For instance, here is a demo for how I watch anime on a PC, using an unknown remote control, an IRman infrared module I bought a decade ago, Media Player Classic, and some Litestep scripting. Basic components put together, like Lego (albeit with some difficulty): I love it.

Can this be done on a Mac without resorting to costly development? Probably, but Mac users are typically yuppies satisfied with using an all-in-one prebuilt/proper media center. If there are otaku hacks using Macs, I have yet to find them.

Hello

This is my first blawg and first post. I am using Chyrp for publishing.

I like the fact that I can post past events by modifying posts' timestamp. I think I shall exploit this and write about news old to me but new to you, and change the date later.

Thanks to Alex for making a nice piece of software and bearing with my noobiness during setup.
